Jacob Bates, the CEO of CommonGrounds Workplace, is passionate about the future of work and shaping tomorrow’s workplace and future leaders.
With 20 years of experience, Jacob continues to lead global enterprise corporate real estate portfolios and workplace solutions. Jacob has directly led portfolios for Fortune 100 multinational companies and, as the lead for these companies, provided executive direction on global real estate operations, location strategies, design, construction, and workplace experience initiatives.
A few of Jacob’s major accomplishments include leading investor pitches and securing a $140 million Series A funding round for CommonGrounds Workplace, as well as leading the company’s product development for the industry’s first physically adaptive (aka “hackable”) built environment. In addition, Jacob has also directly leading global real estate teams, managing portfolios consisting of 5 to 20 million square feet for companies such as Nike, Cigna, Unity, and CBRE, as well as Directly led billions of dollars in global real estate transactions and the opening and operating of 1,000’s of locations throughout the US, and in more than 70 countries globally.
Jacob holds a degree in Global Business Management & International Finance. At his leisure, Jacob enjoys spending time with family, hiking and long-distance running, horseback riding, and continuing to learn more about leadership and the future of work as a thought leader in the world of Flex Office.
