Beatrice Witzgall is a visionary and highly innovative design leader. She has extensive industry experience in real estate, hospitality, smart home, and IoT technologies. Beatrice is also widely published and a renowned industry speaker.
As a German-trained architect and award-winning interdisciplinary designer, she currently works as an expert consultant on wireless lighting controls, IoT, and smart building technologies.
In 2008 Beatrice started her design and consulting firm ‘In3Design’, where she blends her architectural, digital technology, and lighting expertise. In I3D’s early years, she pioneered lighting design within the superyacht industry. With the emergence of IoT and wireless controls, she pursued her entrepreneurial career and founded the award-winning, smart technology lighting platform LumiFi in 2014.
Beatrice holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Braunschweig, Germany and also attended the graduate program at the Rhode Island School of Design. Post graduation she collaborated with the MIT Media Lab on interactive technologies for over three years. During that time, she also was a visiting professor in the graduate program at Parson School of Design ‘Design & Technology’ department.
